Healthcare IT News’ Chicago Executive Breakfast Tackles Cloud Security
Cloud computing may be one of the hottest topics in healthcare today, but many providers and payers still harbor doubts and questions about the cloud’s ability to securely store personal health information.
A panel of health IT experts will address this issue head on at a Dec. 5 Healthcare IT News Executive Briefing at the Fairmont Chicago. The briefing, which includes breakfast, runs from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
This event is designed specifically to meet the needs to healthcare and payer IT executives.
Panelists will explain how the HIPAA Omnibus Rule, which took effect Sept. 23, has made the cloud a more secure storage option for personal health information. Then they’ll cut through the hype and discuss how healthcare organizations are right now using the cloud to, among other things, improve patient engagement, reduce the costs of archiving patient and operational data, test new applications, collaborate with external care partners, and transfer data to and from mobile devices.
