Chief clinical officer presents at New York City Big Data and Healthcare Analytics Forum

Michael Dulin, MD, is the Chief Clinical Officer for Analytics and Outcomes Research for Carolinas HealthCare System and his talk on Friday, June 19 at 12:10 p.m., Carolina's Journey: Turning Big Data into Better Care will focus on his work at that growing health system.

Recent advances in technology have allowed health systems to overcome what appeared to be insurmountable challenges in the past such as data integration, large-scale data warehousing and predictive modeling using novel tools such as machine learning.

Dulin will give an overview of the work of Carolinas HealthCare System’s advanced analytics group (Dickson Advanced Analytics Group, DA2) and their work creating the data and analytics infrastructure needed to support population health.

He will provide examples of two key initiatives using predictive modeling to advance community health and prevent hospital readmissions and future challenges the organization is working to overcome.

He joins close to 30 speakers for the two-day Big Data and Healthcare Analytics Forum in NYC, featuring organizations such as Veterans Affairs, Harvard Medical School, Johns Hopkins, Sloan-Memorial Kettering and more.
